Mindfulness of Eating

with Marilyn Moser Waxman

Friday Evening 7 - 8 pm

Jan  18, 2013

Come join us for some appetizers, warm drink and conversation

Must Register on Line by Friday Jan 11th
(Helps us with preparing appetizers, warm drinks and handouts)

$10.00 Suggested Donation (Pay by cash or check at time of event)

Have you ever stood at the counter and ate? Do you grab food every time
you go by your counter or at the office? Have you eaten your lunch or
breakfast while driving? Do you remember what you ate or what it tasted
like? If you answered YES to any of these this class is for you.

Join Marilyn while she discusses how we have become a nation of
unconscious, unhealthy eaters, disconnected from the natural world around
us. Learn ways we can reconnect to ourselves and what we are eating.
Being mindful of the choices you make in eating will not only positively
change your health and life but will also benefit the world around us.

The benefits you can achieve through mindfulness in your eating: food will
be more satisfying, loss of our love-hate relationship with food, weight
loss, improved health and clearer thinking, a positive impact on the
environment.

Sign up for the Soulcollage Dreamwork Workshop

http://www.meetup.com/Havertown-SoulCollagers/

  • Celebrate the Autumn Equinox with the Havertown SoulCollage® Circle!
  • Sunday, September 23, 2012
    1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
  • Price: $35.00/per person

The Equinox is a time a balance, a moment when day and night are of equal length.  These moments of of cosmic shift are beneficial times to explore what our dreams are telling us about our lives and our world, as we look ahead to a new season.

SoulCollage® is a very natural way to explore dreams and their meanings.  Both use the non-linear non-verbal language of image, and both bring messages from our deepest unconscious depths.  Let's tap into the crisp energy in the air and let our dreams be part of the harvest that we reap!

The SoulCollage® and Dreamwork workshop is open to anyone who has attended at least one SoulCollage® Sunday, Open Studio, or Introduction to SoulCollage® workshop.  Feel free to bring a journal.

Knitting afghans for Afghans with Elizabeth Durand

Friday, January 20, 2012

12 - 2 pm

Come Join Us!

Use only Animal Wool Please.

Come sit with friends and enjoy the meditative, calming power of knitting and at the same time help to make a child a little warmer.

We will be knitting for afghans for Afghans, a group that has been sending warm, handmade woolen items to civilians in Afghanistan for 10 years now. For each campaign, director Ann Rubin works with a group in Afghanistan to target exactly what is needed; she then obtains secure shipping, and only then does a campaign begin. If you’re already working on something for this group, bring it along. If not, we’ll be making 8-inch blanket squares. Bring your needles and a ball of 100% wool (or alpaca or other animal fiber) worsted weight yarn. Why wool? It’s much warmer than acrylic, and it’s what has been requested. Bright and dark colors are best; laundry opportunities are limited, and white and pastels show dirt far too easily.  Please go to their website for more information http://www.afghansforafghans.org/index.html

What to bring:

You should bring yarn and needles.  Yarn must be wool or other animal fibers.  You will need needles for worsted weight yarn, whatever size you need to get 5 stitches per inch.  We're making 8-inch blanket squares. Use a stitch you like, or use one from the instructions that will be available at Cerca Trova. You can also knit squares at home and then drop finished squares at the studio.

Bring your lunch; stay the whole time or just part; we will be happy to see you.

If you do not know how to knit there will be enough knitters present to help you get started, your goal only one square.  A very easy and rewarding way to get you started in knitting, expand you knowledge or share your knitting abilities with others.

Yoga is about finding balance by bringing the mind, body and spirit into balance and it’s in giving and receiving on all levels that we find it.   Elizabeth teaches us this through the practice of Mindful Knitting!

 See you soon!

VALENTINES WORKSHOP - A WOMEN'S CIRCLE  - "Celebrating Love"

Is you would like this workshop 2013 please click here and send me request.

Did you know that: Valentine's Day started in the time of the Roman Empire. In ancient Rome, February 14th was a holiday to honour Juno. Juno was the Queen of the Roman Gods and Goddesses. The Romans also knew her as the Goddess (Protectress) of women in marriage and childbirth. Would you like to learn more ----

Join Sharlene Bund and Siddiqa Salter for a sacred journey into Love. Learning how to open our hearts is the most effective method of healing old wounds and moving forward into a greater sense of joy, well-being and enthusiasm for life! This gathering of women is about learning how to love at deeper levels, how to receive and give love with ease and grace and how to be in the living stream of Love that inspires, renews and connects us with all of life.
Our time together will be celebrated with heart centered essential oils, the sacred movement of yoga, a powerful breath work circle followed by a guided writing process, sharing from the heart, loving kindness meditation and joyful communion with Love. Come experience what cannot be captured with words but must be experienced. The time is now to let go and remember Love. This is the message of our time.
