Meditation Class
Meditation helps us to understand our
own mind. It helps us overcome stress, illness, and find inner peace and balance.
By studying and practicing meditation we learn how to transform our
mind from negative to positive, from disturbed to peaceful, from
unhappy to happy. Come join us on Thursday evenings and we will learn how to cultivating constructive thoughts and
release ourselves from the grasp of negative thoughts helping to bring the mind, body and soul into balance. Remember the hardest part is walking through the doors.

Vinyasa Dragon Flow Yoga™ with Gabrielle de Burke
A vigorous core strengthening powerful practice bringing together a sequence of energizing yoga postures & Chi Kung/Kung-fu exercises. Plan to cultivate heat as we warm the body with salutations to the Sun (Yang) & explore relaxed flows of movement by cooling down with salutes to the Moon (Yin). Emphasis is placed on synchronizing the breath with the movement (Vinyasa). This class emphasizes mindfulness; allowing practitioners to flow from pose to pose at their own pace & go deep into the art of breathing (Pranayama). Yoga experience is necessary (1-2 years) with modified poses to suit all levels of practice, while challenging both intermediate & advanced students!

Senior (Dragon Spirit™) Yoga with Gabrielle de Burke
This class combines the moving arts of Tao Yin/Chi Kung & Hatha Yoga & is designed for seniors. This fusion style of yoga invites practitioners to learn to connect with the vitality, strength & flexibility that come with gentle & specific yogic movements in coordination with the breath. The class will be led through a basic orientation of yoga accessible to various levels of experience without the pressure of being subjected to any of those intimidating "pretzel poses.” Students are encouraged to approach the practice with non-judgment, honor the body & accept the limitations that life presents, while challenging them to remember a playful spirit & whilst harmonizing the mind!

Yo-fu Youth (Dance Theater/Marial Movement/Yoga Fusion)™ with Gabrielle de Burke
This class will introduce all levels of youth to the art of Yo-Fu™, a practice of Dance-Theater, Martial-Movement & Yoga-Grooves created & founded by Gabrielle de Burke (a.k.a The Plum Dragoness). Students will learn a series of Hatha Yoga postures that come from India along with Kung-fu/Chikung martial/internal arts techniques that come from China & “break-dance” forms grown out of urban America.
The roots of this stylized art of movement is a fusion, informed by “old school” Hip-hop dance moves (Lockin’,Up/Down Rockin’, Liquid & etc.) & influenced by the mythical spirits of ancient Yogic traditions mixed with the legends of iconic animal characters (Dragon, Phoenix, Monkey etc.), mystic sages (Monk, Warrior, Fairy, etc.) & the Five Elements found in nature (Water, Metal, Fire, Wood & Water). We will practice breathing exercises, investigate the basic Taoist concepts of balancing movement with stillness (Yin/Yang) while exploring the movement forms & postures presented. Arts & craft activities include making fans, ribbon sticks & masks among other traditional performance props & costume accessories that add to the theatrical experience & creative expression of students. YOGA for Teens and their Moms! (13 - 16 yrs)
Come to Cerca Trova Yoga and let’s do an hour of yoga postures, breathing, aromatherapy and meditation. We will move to all types of music – your favorite tunes. Learn how to.... jump into the warrior pose when you need to find your inner strength; move in and out of a twist when you need a reminder on how to enter and exit an argument; plant your feet in the mountain pose when the world is shaking and you need to find some stability, and; yes, learn to sit and meditate, quieting the mind and resting the body, making room for your spirit to shine through.
Yoga helps us learn about personal care, helps prevent sport injuries, enhances concentration, learn relaxation techniques that help guide us through times of stress. I started practicing yoga when I was 16 with my mother. Now the kids are coming to classes not only with their mothers but also with their friends. Come try this 4 week session.
